Hey everyone! As you all know, TNVC is scours the defense industry to find the very best night vision products. We test them ourselves to make sure that they meet our high standards because we are not going to sell junk that could get our brothers injured or killed.
One of the biggest headaches (no pun intended) with night vision is finding eye-pro that is compatible with helmet-mounted NVGs. Warfighters, LEOs, and civies can wear goggles, shooting glasses, or nothing at all. Unfortunately, many choose to not wear eye-pro with NVG's for several reasons. 1. The NVG cannot be moved all the way back to the eye because the goggles are thick and stand off the face. 2. Shooting Glasses constantly get bumped around the face by NODs that are butted up against the lenses. 3. The goggles or glasses tend to fog like crazy because the NODs push hot air towards the face. Well, we Revision decided to do something about this. They developed two goggle solutions for the NVG-clad warrior. TNVC recognized these as great products and decided to become a Revision Authorized Dealer. The Revision Bullet Ant goggle is a low-profile goggle system that sits very close to the face. It uses a thin strap to secure to the head, ensuring a tight fit and seals around the eyes. The low-profile nature of the Bullet Ant is for use with NVG's and other head-borne equipment compaitibility. The system comes with interchangeable lenses for use in all lighting conditions.
The Revision EXOSHIELD is a brand new product. This is a must-have item for NVG-users and cannot be beat for the price! The EXOSHIELD is the lowest profile goggle on the market. It was designed with heavy collaboration with Special Operations Forces. The EXOSHIELD is a one-goggle/all-mission solution that was developed to be worn for everything from HALO insertions to ground assaults. It allows the NVG to be brought right up to the eye while providing the user with wrap-around eye protection. It also features Revision's anti-fog lens coating that actually works! No bullshit. I have always had trouble wearing goggles because of my nose. I have a big nose to begin with. It has also been broken twice in the line of duty. So, goggles always fog with me because they stand away from my face. But, the EXOSHIELDs will not fog. I have worn them for hours on end without issue!
Anyway, I just thought you gents would want to know about these awesome goggles. We are carrying the full line of Revision Eyewear, so check out our website! |
| Had the prototype of the Exoshield last year and it worked well. Jumped it several times, no fogging issues or distortion and a good seal. Only complaint is that the velcro overlap in the back is a little uncomfortable under the Gentex HALO/HAHO helmet. Not so bad under the Pro-Tech. |

It would be nice if someone made a set with IR filtering lenses to help with inadvertent splashback or whatever you'd call it. If you filter out the IR wavelengths than what is the point ? Ir is useless if you have a LIF that filters it out. Say goodbye to any illuminator you may want to use. |

You'll still see the laser through the NVGs still but protect your eyes should the laser hit something reflective. |

Very true but using glasses that block IR will monkey with the image you see through your monocular. Little test, stick a LIF behind the eyepiece of your PVS-14 and watch what happens. Now, the LIF is not blocking IR wavelengths that aiming lasers use but I bet the effects would be similar. IR Filtering glasses may be fine on the unaided eye but would dim the image on the eye behind your scope. I like your thought and think it would be good from a safety perspective. I just don't know what effect it would have on the eye behind a 14. I really think it would severely dim the image. The LIF blocks a frequency we can't see but due to harmonics it blocks light we can see as well. |

Laser protection goggles for human eyes actually block out a heck of a lot more than you realize and if you add everything from 600nm upwards and also the lower frequencies for green, you're going to affect the vision of NODs. You could cut a notch for green, but then you're still exposing your vision to a number of battlefield lasers, so there's no point doing that. Modern IR laser protective goggles actually block out a heck of a lot more spectrum than you'd realize. I know you're talking about IR only and it sounds counter intuitive, but Dino's actually talking about the real goggles they make for this purposes. They do block green also. I've never looked through a pair myself, but I expect it would be a little like looking through strangely colored sunglasses. Regards David Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Damn cool goggles. :) Can I get them in prescription? |

No mention of EXO's so I'm assuming the answer is no. |
