Can someone tell me which examiner is assigned to which letter of the alphabet? And does it go by last name?
Thanks for your help |
| It does go by last name of the transferee, or the builder, depending on form 4 or form 1. Some people have some ideas of who gets what, but it also depends on work load, as over the last year I've had the bulk of my transfers done by one examiner, but I've also had two random forms done by two other examiners. Nothing different, same dealer, etc etc. |

the last 2 form 1s I got back, within 1 year, one had 2 examiners name on it, the other one another examiners' name. all of them different.
there is only a handful of people working at the NFA branch, 12 or so, and of all those one maybe 2 does only dealers/tax exempt transfers, maybe 5 or 6 all others transfers . the rest are supervisors. it isn't like there are hundreds of people working there. |

nfatracker.com is your friend Will Perople keep saying that, but I find it less useful than the tacked thread on NFA timelines here. NFAtracker is only as good as the data we users put into it. Personally, I find the compiled data tons more useful than poring through page after page of the thread here, though both can be helpful. |

The compiled data seems to be a bit easier on the eyes but it just sucks when I find an examiner or initial I am looking for but the person never finishes the timeline. NFA tracker would be GREAT but as you said "is only as good as the data we users put into it" is where it is lacking in my eyes. |

Roger that, but it is at least easier now that the examiner names are in a dropdown, and we don't have to try to combine the separate compiled data from "Sandra Snook", "Sandy Snook", "Sandee Snack", and "Snooki Sandwich" because users couldn't follow or spell. That shit was useless, but I think the examiner reports are rather helpful now. |
