My login is not working and now I'm locked out. Not impressed so far with the new site. They posted this on Facebook earlier today (it's also on the site's login page): If this is your first time to the NEW NFA Tracker website, use the Lost Password link enter your previous username or email address and receive a link to create a new password via email. Your old password will not work. Did you try a reset? I've been in touch with the NFA Tracker folks since they began this upgrade. Give them time. The past entries are still uploading and they're working through the bugs. This has been a big technological upgrade for the site and bugs are bound to crop up. Once it's fully functional, I think people will like the additional features and improved presentation. |

And all my info is screwed up.... Same, over half of my list did not convert. Luckily I have spreadsheets saved. From the website: My Transfer Tracking We are continuing to load data from the old system and this page will be temporarily down until all data is loaded. All of your historical tracking information, as well as any new items entered yesterday and this morning will be available. Please give us some time to get all of your information in place. No data has been lost or compromised and your help in our transition to make this an even better online community is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your patience. |

NFA tracker is a free site that apparently is getting a much needed upgrade. No one pays for a membership there except for advertisers.
Shit takes time. Everyone quit whining like they violated your safe space. Guess what? Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny don't exist either. Try going and playing outside for a little while. So much butt hurt in such a little time....

You know nothing of the IT industry

My login is not working and now I'm locked out. Not impressed so far with the new site. That's understandable. If they switched over to new software, then it most likely doesn't use the same hashing algorithms as the old site (it is probably a much more secure algorithm than what was in the old software). Password are usually not stored clear text in the database so they can't just transfer them over. |

No kidding. People can wait months for NFA approval, but if NFA Tracker is buggy for a few days, they lose it. Guys, stop trying to add things back in. Wait a week and if your stuff still isn't there, use the help section in the forums or send them an email. There's a lot of poorly formatted data that needs to be moved and cleaned up. |

The mobile site is an abortion What do you see wrong with it? Maybe my phone wouldn't cooperate but couldn't make the screen wide enough to use the pull down menus. And it's CHANGE! Rabble! Rabble rabble! They made some changes to the way the mobile version renders. It mostly looks much better now. |

Sigh...so now I have to go through and match suppressor/SBR names to records, which is going to be difficult at best since NFA tracker was my documentation as to what i bought when, etc. I have a general idea of what items I put in when, but it's a royal pain in the ass, and instead of just being able to quickly look it up I'm probably going to have to call the NFA line for everything I have pending just to verify dates now.
Not only that, but under 'my transfer items', if you hit the big + button, YOU ARE STUCK THERE. You NEED to enter something. There's no way to cancel it out. If you do enter something and then go to delete what you just entered, it doesn't delete what you entered...it deletes an older random record. Maybe something you had pending still, maybe something that cleared 3 years ago. Hard to tell when there's no names to dates. If you do hit that big + button you need to navigate away from the page, and then back to it without touching a single damn thing, otherwise your records get totally hosed Once you nav back you should be able to hopefully safely remove records...I don't know if it'll work that way because it already fucked me mightily.
Really? Not even a cancel or undo button? Sigh
My impetus to write my own version of this for my own use just got raised a notch

been burned too many times to rely on others databases for my info so I always make my own copy of my info.... just for occasions such as this.
ETA: Will give them a few more weeks to get all the data entered before I really worry about the info I had in there. |

Not sure if I'm reading it right, but is it saying that Form 4 trusts are showing approved around the Apr 8th area? Appears so... Still pending from March 25. Hmmmmm ![]() Called today. It was approved yesterday - Oct 31. |

They were able to restore my old records, so all my info (well most of it) was saved. I had a couple of dupe entries for things I bought the same day; they apparently scrubbed those so if you bought two cans on the same day and they had the same form sent and check cashed time, they apparently removed one as a duplicate. Not a big deal, easy enough to recreate (especially since I haven't called and gotten a pending time for them yet anyway).
I was able to fill in all the can purchases, it's all of the form 1 SBRs that are going to be a bitch to get in

The only thing I ever wanted from NFATracker was to know the submission dates of the latest reported approvals for each category. i.e. 10/25 approvals were submitted on 4/16. I watch that submission date creep (slowly) up to one of my submissions and I can anticipate getting my own approval within a week or two.
Either I'm dense or that information is no longer easily accessible -- instead if gives me a count of days which isn't very useful to me. Hopefully this is part of the charts and graphs they plan to add. Really I just want a data table I can sort and filter...at least I could sort the old one (just sorted by approved date to get the latest reports and refreshed that forever). |
