I sent forms off around the middle of Nov. 08. Called the BATF to check the status of my NFA item. Guy on phone stated my paper work was assigned to an examiner on 01/30/09 Guy on phone then stated they have been very busy since Oct. 08 and my status is now pending. Well whatever the krunk that means, thought you fellas might want to know. I guess pending means they are still looking at my forms?  I knew it would take a while but damn. File and forget is what I keep telling myself.

| I believe that pending only means that it has been assigned to an examimer. All the wait up to this point has only been waiting for an examiner to be come available. My two were sent in mid and late October. The first one went pending the last week of November. The second one went pending middle od December. Number one returned to me in the thrid week of January and the second one got back to be in the end of January...Sorry, but your wait is probably going to be longer. |

They may have been slammed in October (when mine went in) but I bet that was nothing compaired to what they saw Post-election.
