First of all thank you for taking the time to read this.

I am trying to become an gun shop employee (I would like to become a range officer/armorer/and what ever else I can learn). Is there any advice you could give to someone trying to join this field? Anything that would better help me to get a career in the firearms industry? Any advice you can give would be more than appreciated.

Feel free to IM me.

For anything other than straight-up sales there are certifications available, e.g. Range Safety Officer.  I would start there.

If you want to be a "responsible person" in a gun store, make sure you can pass a NICS check, then take the NRA RSO training (its not a certification) and maybe NRA basic pistol instructor and Home Safety instructor certifications.  Then, buy a Glock, join the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation and you can get into the different Glock Armorer's courses, SIG also conducts armorer courses.  I've watched a lot of gunsmith videos on different firearms.  I am in no way qualified to "work" on a gun, but I know how many firearms function, how to load and unload them, and how to get them working if they're jammed or just honked up.

Then, if you decide to work in a gun store, you should also be ready to listen to a lot of BS stories from the customers.  For example, i never realized how many former special forces and CIA operators live in my town.
