I am standing in my local academy right now looking at some powders. I just started loading 9mm, and have a container of Titegroup that I'm using. I will be loading .223 very soon once I decide on a trimmer and get a spare turret for my .223 dies.
Anyway, prices are good in my opinion so i want to grab maybe a pound or two of powders. Here are my choices, H335-$25.99 BL-C (2) - $25.99 CFE223 - $26.99 TITEGROUP - $20.99(might get one of these just because its 5 dollars cheaper than the other can i bought and i know ill find use for it.) Which is the best deal for .223 loads? |

Buy all of them. Develop a load for each rifle powder. Then, the next time you are standing in the store and they only have one of them, you know that it will work. True ARFcom answer! I wish I had the 100 bucks to spend and I would have. I bought a can off H335 because I know there are about a gazillion loads for it. However, I think I'm going to just go back there once a week and buy a pound of whatever they have in stock and just build up a stash. A pound a week until election day should net me a good supply before the stuff disappears. Thanks for the quick help! |

Like a free couple pounds. Though I do like your plan. |

H335 is a great versatile powder to have around anyway.. like you said, there are tons of loads. I got it for 223 but never got results like I see with CFE. Accuracy was "erratic" especially for some of my heavies (don't bother for 75gr Hornady IMO). BUT... I found it can be used in anything. Used it in Krag, GP90, 6.5 jap, etc... started keeping it around for all the oldies.. but as I said above, it is an old powder. There are new and better powders... just won't find loads for them in the old rifles. |

You now have barter power for something you are using. |
