Ok, I took my new GSG 5 to the range and other than it shoots high it worked great.  I went home and following other posts here, I took it apart to give it a good cleaning and lock tite all the screws, several of which were loose.  When I took the top cover off the bolt a small flat piece of metal fell out and got hung up in the extractor relief on the bolt.  It is not the firing pin and is much smaller perhaps about 3/4" long.  It has a somewhat semi-circlular cut on one end and the other end seems to taper down somewhat.  Anyone have an idea what this part is for and where it goes?  I did not see it mentioned in the thread on taking the bolt apart.  Thanks,,,,,Rick

Give us a part number from the exploded view on the GSG-G General Tacked thread.
If you can't find it on there, you'll have to post a picture of it.

Thanks Jackal2001, but I figured out where it came from and where it belongs.  It was one of the two small plates that fit on the top and bottom of the extractor.  They just kind of pivot out from thier respective locations and that is what happened with mine.  I saw the other similar plate and figued out where the other one belonged.  Can't quite figure out why they are there though.......any ideas??   Rick

I'll bet it's part #2...a tiny, thin shim if I recall that hinges on the extractor retaining pin (part #1).  There's 2 of these shims... one on top and bottom of the extractor.  Mine fell out out the same circumstances.
To replace, just hook the groove in the rounded end back around the pin.

**You got it just before I posted.
