I have a Springfield 1903 that I picked up a while back.  I want to use it to hunt a hog this summer so I started shooting it at my range.  Typical shots on a hog around here are taken from 50-100 yards...sometimes closer.  Right now I use the little peep hole on the bottom of the rear sight with the front sight blade centered and I get the bullets to impact where the sight is aimed from 50 yards.  This is with the rear sight moved most of the way down...just high enough to clear the peep hole from base.   When I moved out to 100 yards the point of impact is about 3-4" higher than the point of aim.  I'm using Remington core-lok 150gr JSP ammo from Walmart.  IS the peep hole the correct portion of the rear sight for shooting between 50-100 yards?  Is there a better way?

I'm using the little hole at the base of the ladder sight.

A quick and dirty search on a ballistics calculator shows you sighted in at about 250 yards putting you at a peak of +3.5 inches at 150. This is just a rough idea of where you are at, YMMV.

Thank you.
What's the point of impact at 25, 50 75 and 100 yards?

25 = +0.1
50 = +1.3
75 = +2.4
100 = +3.1
Again, this is rough but should give you a fair idea.
