| Can someone please point me in the right direction for steps on getting a supressor? I saw a couple good posts a while back but can't seem to find them. Thanks for any help. |

The steps are really quite simple. 1. Check state laws to confirm you can own one 2. Determine how you will be applying (Trust, Individual, Corp) 3. Obtain CLEO signature (or promise of signature)for Individual or gather necessary documentation for Trust, Corp 4. Purchase Suppressor (stays with dealer for now) 5. Complete Form 4 and submit with all necessary paperwork and payment 6. Wait for form 4 to return with tax stamp 7. Pick up suppressor from dealer 8. Go shooting (4) could be done before (3) but personally i like to have my i's and t's taken care of before purchase. Most Dealers would be glad to help you through the process. The biggest thing to overcome is the CLEO Signature or Formation of a Trust or Corporation. ETA: Don't take this as legal advice, it's not. I am only describing the process I am going through personally. |
