A friend has a 12ga.double barrel shotgun and the only markings on it are "Springfield Arms Company Chocopff falls Mass.USA pat.April-20-1915" Not sure about the spelling of "Chocopff falls" I"m reading it from a small note. It also says 12ga. on the barrel. Anyone have an idea where I might get some info including a price for such a gun? thanks, Bob. |
| Savage and Springfield merged at some time in the past...not sure of the exact details (if one bought out the other, or if one was an offshoot of the other, etc.) Have the gun examined by an experienced gunsmith if possible to be certain it is still safe to shoot, assuming yes, it will never be a valuable collector's item, but might be a nice using gun. Price won't be real high, even in pristine condition. |
