I had a Gerber folder and have had it sense 1986 and have carried almost daily. Not sure what model it was but had a 3.5" blade and plastice handle.

Was very light weight and very durable.

Looking for 3.5 - 4" blade and looking to be light and durable. (last one used for everything butcherd a couple of deer to opening Christmas presents)

I love benchmade for folders. well made and made in the USA i carried this one (plain satin blade model) for about 4 years and recently upgraded to this one and have been carrying it a few days and absolutely love it, it is the plain blade with the bead blasted finish. and an emerson cqc-11 is next in line with a plain bead blasted blade of course.

check out blade hq for good prices and fast shipping

The HEST folder will be my next folder.  The other folder I may get is the new Zero Tolerance 0550 or 0551.  There aren't any final pics of it out yet, but it looks like it will be a nice knife.

Looks like mid November for the 0551.  I am not sure on the 0550.

I want to add that weight is going to be a big factor. Think I may want to go with some type of plastic handle for reduction of weight.

These are worn with dress pants and the lighter weight seems to show less.

Current carefully reviewing all the options you guys have provided.

Thanks for the info so far

i just got a spyderco endura 4 the other day.  extremely sharp, 4" blade, plastic (FRN?  whatever that is) handle, very lightweight and carries extremely well in the pocket.  i also love my benchmade mini-griptallian, light, carries welll, and holds a nice edge as well as sharpens easily.  both are a  lot of knife for the money IMO

Yea,he may have to wait 3 +/- more months...

Glad I got in on the first..

EDDITED to add..

I'm sure there will be some for sale on Blade forums after the first release...

That tit on the end and the sharp cut out thingy on the back of the blade look like they would rip the inside of your pocket to shreads if you carried it in you pocket like I do. I'd prefer a smoother profile for edc IMHO.

Kershaw Blur.  I had a Gerber fast, but I broke it, too soft for  my usage I guess
