Whats wrong with this picture?

My brother-in-law had this scope on an AK with a tri-mount receiver cover from Centerfire. The box for the cover said it was a Weaver base. And from what I understand the rail on my rifle is a Weaver base.

The problem with weaver bases is that there is no universal spec for them. Unlike 1913 specs, some weaver rails can differ. I had the same problem on one of my rails/ mounts.

So what do I need to do? Do I need to go find a bunch of Weaver rings and look through them till I find one thats smaller? Or is my problem going to be the base on my rifle?

Is that a Aimpoint low ring you have? Aimpoint sells a picatinny and weaver rings. SWFA has them listed on their site. Looks like the cross bolt on yours is a picatinny spec.

Lets see, so on SWFA, I need the Aimpoint X Wide 30mm Ring(Weaver style ring, w/ thumb screw and slot) Stock# 10819, $23.95.

Sounds like the ring you need. Mght call and see if they can measure the cross bolt to make sure it fits the slots on your mount since there are no real specs on weaver cross bolts.
