I'm kicking around an idea of having a old Enfield rifle re-chambered.
I was thinking of having it re-chambering it to 30-30 Winchester. From what I understand, the 30-30 will feed, fire (I plan on having the barrel changed) and eject with no problem, but I have no idea if the magazine will work with the Winchester, I don't know if it would hold all 10 rounds. Has anyone here ever tried this? Anyone have a Enfield magazine and 10 rounds of 30-30? I would love to know if it will hold all 10 rounds of 30-30. I 'm also considering having it re-chambering to 7.62x39. maybe using the mini-30 magazine, but this seems to be more complicated. Anyone here ever tried this? I'm guessing I would need a Enfield chambered in .308 for this project. I talked to the good folks at "Special Interest Arms" about doing a conversion to 7.62 Russian, but they told me that they discounted doing any conversions. Any info would be appreciated. |

Havent done an enfield but did do a mauser in 7.62x39 almost finished it, if i were to do one the speacial interest arms 7.62x39 would be the way i would go. With my mauser ALOT of the work was tedious and took forever, I hoping that I will one day come across one, I wish I had pick one up when I had the chance... |
