Hey everyone.  I have been looking into scopes for my m1a.  I have been looking at an acog, but how is the eye relief?  It looks like you have to get real close to it because its a short scope, correct?  Does anyone have any other suggestions?  Thanks

On a scout mount a Burris 2-7X EER handgun scope.

On receiver mount a SWFA SS 10X scope. An IOR scope would work fine too.

The ACOGs are great scopes but the eye relief is short even with the Smith ACOG mount.  The ACOGs run fine on FALs where the stock length isn't as long.

I'm using a Burris Signature select 3-12x44 with the Ballistic Plex reticle. The power range is perfect for my uses (100 to 500 yards). It has a very forgiving eye releif, even at maximum magnification, and the glass is bright and clear from edge to edge. I love it.

Nikons are available really cheap right now, and are probably the best deal going. I would consider a Nikon, Burris, Super Sniper, or Leupold, provided the Leupy is reasonably priced. There's a lot of good glass on the market nowadays.

Thanks for the reply.  I have never had a scoped rifle.  This m1a is my first rifle and I would like to get a scope that complements it.  I will have to look up nikon and leupold scopes.
