Hi guys,

Finally putting together my SBR, but I'm still short a couple of parts.  I have decided to go with a BCM 11.5 Carbine-Gas ELW Fluted barrel.  And for the buffer I'm trying to decide between the heavy and regular sets of the JP silent captured spring system. (because I hate my wallet apparently)

Anyone have any experience with this barrel?  Slightly overgassed?  Do I need a heavier buffer?  Will regular do fine?

All of my SBR's run 100%, some have adjustable gas blocks and some don't. But they all have h2 buffers.  Do I need them?  I have zero idea, but figured since I shoot suppressed often it wouldn't hurt to slow things down a little.

I have the non-fluted version and it runs perfect with an H buffer and regular carbine spring.  It consistently throws brass at 4 o'clock.  Edit: This is shooting unsuppressed.

Appreciate the responses from both of you!  Looks like the heavy setup is what I'm going with.  Thanks again

I highly recommend an adjustable gas block. I put one on all of my SBRs. Being able to use a standard spring and lighter buffer makes a good difference in recoil. Even the cheaper $50 Seekins has proven well if you do not plan on changing the gas much. If you are set on running a silent capture, I would recommend the regular spring with an adjustable gb.
