just got her home and cleaned/lubed it. Picked it up local at JR today. Beautiful. TRW bolt and trigger group, Winchester oprod and safety. Beautiful.. going to shoot her a little while and see how she zeros out. All GI parts including the sights.

25m/250m zero done per FM. Zero windage needed front or rear. Bit much elevation at 20 clicks. Will reduce the height of the FSPost to reduce elevation clicks in rear. Zero issue. Loves 168 matchkings. All tight. No cylinder/ferrel movement. Snug stock fit. All in all just like a new 1962 M14. Love the all GI parts. Barrel does its part so far too. Picked up several Check Mate mags NIW while there. Side note, the JRA BM59 is a beast. Love the Beretta markings. Perhaps in the future. |

Yep. Made contact last night on the CMP Forum for a connector bar and stud to fill the hole and make it look complete. Side note, figure 3/32 or about 3mm off the front sight blade should drop my rear clicks by 10 or so. I can deal with that; just glad it does not have any windage issues. |

Great looking rifle. Can you say where there were produced? I can damn near see the James River from this window and always wondered where the line of rifles came from. |

Don’t think Walmart size….small storefront. Cash or card. |

Elevation situation resolved. 100m setting is now at 6 clicks up. Took about 3/16 (.076) off front sight. Plenty of blade left and zero windage on rear. Front sight is just slightly off center to the left. 9 rounds in X and 10 ring at 100m. She is a shooter for sure. |

Found a nice compromise in ammo. Hornady Match .308 165gr and Defender 147gr 7.62mm both have the same windage on this rifle. POI is lower with the 147 so I figured out its sight elevation change and can use both with minor adjustment. Would do this rifle again without hesitation. |
