| I just picked up a new Rossi R95 in 357 magnum. I took it out for the first time with some Norma TC 357 mag ammo and I was having a lot of problems with it jamming. Sometimes it will run through a whole tube fine and sometimes it's every round. I tried running the lever hard and soft, making sure I wasn't short stroking it. It ejects fine and the next shell comes out of the mag tube and is sitting on the elevator but the lever is jammed open and won't move. I have to remove the loose round and poke the next round in the tube to make it come out before I can cycle the lever. I oiled up the mechanism and it runs very smoothly without ammo. I'm wondering if there's a burr or something on the cartridge stop or something in the magazine that might be causing the issue. |

It never had a problem with feeding into the barrel, it was always the lever/elevator mechanism getting jammed. The round is just sitting loose on it ready to be raised, I can turn the rifle on its side and shake the round out. |
| After a bench inspection and some testing it appears that when I run the lever hard, multiple rounds are either partially or fully ejected from the tube into the elevator. I think something is wrong with the geometry of the lever/elevator interface. Time to contact Rossi. |

| Did you ever get it sorted out with your Rossi R95? I just bought my R95 2 days ago. I was having the same issues with mine. I Noticed the bottom trigger guard plate screw was loose. along with basically all the other screws. After I tightened them. I could cycle Rounds with no problem. But after shooting 10 or so rounds the same problem came back. I checked the screws, and the trigger guard plate screw was loose again, I tightened it again, and it was fine again till around 10 or so shots then, the problem came back. So, then I completely disassembled the rifle. Cleaned it out with Brake cleaner, to remove all factory oil and grime (It was filthy), lightly oiled the partes, then reassembled it then added blue thread locker to the screws. and it has cycled perfectly for the last 50 rounds. 357 and 38spl. |

It's currently at Rossi being repaired. The rep had me take a video of the problem and then they sent me a shipping label. |
