Oh, man! I broke it! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/tokarev/utf-8BSU1HLTIwMTIwMzA3LTAwMTE2LmpwZw.jpg I am going to ask this question and don't hate me for it. Why is the Ruger 10/22 TD not considered a SBR when the barrel is off? Is their some mechanism that allows the gun to fire when the barrel is on, but not when it is off? From looking at this picture I see that the feed ramp is connected to the barrel but wouldn't the gun be able to be fired regardless? It would suck to have the BATF convict people of felonies for breaking the rules unknowingly because of how a product was designed. |

Anyways, I'm sure Ruger got ATF's blessing before they made 10,000 of these and shipped them out. Other take down rifles exist and have never had an issue with SBR |

It isn't an SBR since the chamber isn't part of the receiver. The rifle cannot be fired in the dis-assembled condition. This That is what I thought. Thanks guys Just think of it this way.. you took your barrel out.. where does your bullet sit? It can't be cycle into midair and not fall out. Got 2 of those on order.. looking forward to seeing how good they are. |
