Ordered last month and here it is! picture soon.... Okay, here we go.... The rifle... it is a rack grade greek H&R, a nice addition to the Springfield (VAR) and Winchester I have already.  The bolt.....  And here you can kinda make out the acceptance stamp, first rifle I have that has had this particular stamp on it. (it is an eagle clutching arrows in its talons with three stars overhead.)  Yeah, the stock is rather rough and the metal is well worn but it looks to be quite servicable. A bit of cleaning and it will be ready to go. |

Just a circled "P" on the grip, the aforementioned eagle and a couple of handguard repairs. BTW, the serial number puts it in the 1954-56 time period. H&R bolt, receiver, barrel. Springfield trigger group and op-rod. I haven't checked it all out yet, that is all I can see by just breaking it in half. Don't know when I might shoot it, that cosmo is a bitch and I have two other garands ready to go.. |
