I just bought a new Cobb carbine. Man, what a BLAST!
But it won't strip a round from the mag without a stopage.
Anyone have any advice?

Does it happen with a full mag or all the time regardless of number of rounds in the mag? If it's only when it's full there's probably to much tension on the spring and would be better off running one or two less rounds. In a modern mag this shouldn't be an issue and I would check with manufacturer about the problem.

Use one fluid motion when stripping the round from the mag. Try palming the bolt handle. It should feed smoother that way.

Thanks for the help. I tried the other mag and it will chamber a round but it still isn't smooth.
I'll try to smooth the ramp a little.

I have a cobb and had the same problem during the break in period.  Since then I have not had a problem and the action got smoother as more rounds went down range.  I did not make any changes just made sure she remained clean and lubed and it worked itself out.

I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear but like any firearm the more you use it the better it gets.

Good luck.

Do you have an older COBB and not the Bushmaster?

If so, I know BM made some changes to the magazine design to improve feeding performance.

Might be worthwhile to order a new mag from Bushmaster or see if they will swap it out for you.

Thanks for the good advice. I have oiled the rails for the bolt to slide on and ordered a couple of mags from BM.
I figure the mags are a good investment anyway.
