Picked one up off of Ebay, this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/BRITISH-GURKHA-ARMY-KHUKURI-KNIFE-Service-No-1-Kukri_W0QQitemZ110290286330QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110290286330&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 I am VERY impressed. I gave it a little love from my old butcher's steel to straighten some rough spots in the edge out and it would mow hair like you wouldn't believe! Went outside and took out some saplings that I have been meaning to chop. This thing shames my old GI machete- Took it back inside, cleaned it off and took this video (slipping on the last bit was my fault) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvDjzEKOJ2A Fit and finish were really good. The buffalo horn handles were polished well, with no voids or cracks. Sheath wasn't the greatest, but it will do its job quite well. Make a good woods blade for a reasonable price. |
| After seeing your post i checked out the ebay link and ordered the "jungle" version which btw looks exactly like a Kukhri House Raw....fit and finish were actually better than expected and the guy that sells them shipped fast and a for a whole lot less than ordering direct from Nepal...overall for 50.00$ a nice blade and better than the old Indian made junk we all have (had) at one time..... |
