Please welcome new Moderator (in this forum; he's already a Mod elsewhere) Skg_Mre_Lght. I know that all of you will get along well.
As usual with Technical forums, the intent is for posters to stay on-topic, and to refrain from personal insults, unseemly arguments, as well as refrain from the usual CoC violations. |

Welcome, and thanks for taking on this responsibility.
One of my thoughts when I requested this forum as to why we should prohibit airsoft and paintball from the discussion was that these are often used to shoot at other people. I think that any discussion of this sort should be frowned upon even though as kids many of us did shoot at each other with various airguns. With adult airguns, this can be lethal and as such airguns should be handled as firearms. ETA: I see that the post I thought inappropriate has been edited. Looks like the Mod is on top of things. |

I. too have some reservations about some uses of airsoft and paintball, but I would remind all that both police and military have seen fit to use both paintball and airsoft as adjunct training. In my opinion, the topics of airsoft and paintball, and legitimate uses of such, lie outside the purview of this forum. OTOH, this is Arfcom, and sooner or later the topic of using an airgun for self-defense will come up. IMHO, this is a legitimate topic for discussion, although probably a short one, given the small caliber and relatively reduced power of most airguns as opposed to similar firearms. Those interested in any topics involving Airsoft or Paintball should post in another forum. |
