With the recent news that production on the new Red Label has ceased, is the scarcity of the new model going to make prices jump? What's the estimated production number on the new model?

Hard to say, it seems to be plagued with problems. If I were buying one I'd be very concerned about reliability and parts down the road.

No. The o/u shotgun market is notoriously snobbish. Ruger Red Label has never been that well thought of. General consensus (I work the trap and skeet range at my club) is they are decent if overly heavy field gun and nothing more.

The Red Label was a labor of love by Bill Ruger. I doubt the company made a dime on the project.
