I had some money that was burning a hole in my wallet......And low and behold a NIB PTR91-SC came home with me for $1279.00 with three extra H&K steel mags dated 1969. I have a couple questions about this weapon. Q-Was told that PTR  was using Thompson Center barrels on these rifles and they were chrome lined? Mine kind of looks chrome lined from the breach.....But not at the muzzle......is this just wishful thinking? Q-If you were going to run a hunting round down the pipe for Whitetail deer.....What make and grain would you use? Thanks.....Trapfan.

The barrels are not chrome lined, and there have been quite a few threads related to hunting ammo over on HKPro.com.

Federal blue box 150 grain soft point. Cheap and accurate as hell.

As always I buy from the same dealer, I along with my friends have probably spent over $25,000 in firearms from him in less than seven years or so. He had them for about $150 more than he charged me so it wasn't all that great a deal......But did free up that $150 I saved to buy lots of G3 mags at the next gun show
