After  a brutal five month transfer process, I finally picked up my AAC PIlot. Did a quick "field test" in the basement (not a reccommended practice). Ran some CCI subsonic and standard velocity ammo through the 10/22, MKII and Glock/Advantage Arms 22 conversion kit. Both types of ammo ran flawless in the two Rugers, but would not cycle the AA/Glock combo. Indoors the pistols sounded like a CO2 pellet pistol. The 10/22 sounded like a Red Ryder bb gun. Range report and pics to follow.

My pilot results:

10/22 w/16" bull barrel - cycles Aquilla Subsonic, Remington Subsonic, the bulk Federal hi-velocity, Remington high velocity, and many others

Kimber with Marvel conversion - will only cycle the hi-velocity remigton ammo.  WIll not cycle even the Federal hi-vel ammo and anything subsonic is single shot.

Sig Mosquito (tactical model):  will not cycle Aguilla subsonics but will cycle remington subsonics.  THe bulk Federal hi-vel works pretty well, and of course all of the other hi-vel ammo works great.  My favorite is the remington subsonic because it is quiet and cycles.  My second favorit is the Federal bulk hi-vel.  It apparently is very lightly loaded and is not much different than subsonics out of a pistol.

As with any other .22 muzzle can, it gets really dirty really quickly.   You just have to know this going in.   Keep a can of CLP handy and you are good to go.

The type 1 Marvel kit should cycle all kinds of ammo, the Type 2 cheaper kit will not but Marvel has a special recoil spring available for low powered ammo.

THanks!   It did not occur to me to call Marvel to see if they had a replacement spring!

I don't remember which model I got but I do remember that there were more expensive versions so I bet I did get the less expensive model.

Ill check with them!  THanks!

(SOrry about Hijacking the thread!)

More on topic with the thread, the Sig Mosquito comes with 2 springs, one stonger and one lighter - very cool!

The type 1 kit the barrel and sights are fixed to each other and the slide reciprocates without the sights moving.

The type 2 kit the entire slide and sight assy. reciprocates just like the original 45 slide did.
