I just bought a new Ruger MK3 .22lr pistol. I went out to sight it in and had to crank the rear adjustable sight pretty much all the way to the right ti get it to hit on target. I have owned several Ruger MK pistols and have never had to adjust one this far. What do you think ? The sights are on tight. Muzzle crown looks good. I think for $400 it should not be this far off !!!

Yep thats highly unusual...I just bought a new one myself and it came sighted in from the factory right out of the box dead nuts centered up and down and side to side without so much as one click movement on my part @ 25 yards. You have a discombobulation somewhere. I LOVE my MK3. You could move the entire site in the dovetail to the right, till your blade is centered.

Out of the last 3 new Ruger guns I have bought, I had to send 2 of them straight back to the factory for serious problems. One of them I shot once - the other never fired a single round before going back. They DID however repair both guns to my satisfaction and returned them in a fair amount of time.
If you are not happy with the way it is now (I wouldn't be...) send it back to them and let them know politely - that you expect to get the gun back with a reasonably centered set of sights. Do it now and give them the chance to correct the situation FOR you. You've already paid for the warranty, make use of it. Just my 2 pennies.

p.s.

Have you tried different types of ammo in it or just one?
