| I just recieved my trust paperwork back and will soon be looking for supressors for 223 and 308 these will be used for night hunting with pvs 14 and 760 or clip on nv optics if they are ever released. Can someone point me in the right direction for what to look for in a suppressor? Thanks alot |
| Personally, I prefer Surefire suppressors, due to their consistently low to minimal point of impact shift. I'd be looking at the 7.62 SOCOM full-size or mini. They have the best mounting system in my opinion, and while maybe not the absolute quietist, they are quiet enough that you, or your prey, probably won't notice the difference. |

Agreed, I bought a pair of socoms, should have them in August. They EASILY have the best mounting system, unfortunately, the only people that really see the value in that are people that either have experience with it already or have had a shitty mounting system on another can. It's very hard to convince people to pay the little more now to save the money and headache later. And novices even more so. And there is no probably notice a difference about it. On an AR and strictly talking perceived sound, YHM == AAC == SUREFIRE == KAC == SILENCERCO == whatever. They are all loud. |

Many videos on YouTube that have suppressed shooting to help you get an idea of what they actually sound like One thing I have learned over the years while making silencers and posting videos on Youtube is that you can't tell what a suppressed firearm actually sounds like by listening to Youtube videos. You need to be there to hear it for yourself. Ranb |
