I liked everything EXCEPT for the Z41 7.62 that has a 16" barrel. Please import them with the standard military length.

A newly manufactured MP5, from an HK licensed manufacturing facility that's been making military grade weapons for hundreds of years, bound by ISO and NATO standards, on HK tooling?

Geez, I think I'll buy one of those......err.......I already did, it's that Form 1 I'm waiting on.

Why did they use the shorter hand guard on the 93 clone? I was down to get one and then they went and did that.

Which model did you settle on?  Heavily leaning towards the K to SBR, myself.

I went with the Z-5RS, the full size MP5.

Just been on a bucket list for some time after shooting them over the years and loving everything about it.

The MKE I got is damn near perfect and virtually indistinguishable from my buddy's HK MP5. Totally reliable with roughly 900 rounds down range with a variety of ammo. Form 1 was submitted 2 days and 2 range trips after I got it. Rapidly becoming my favorite gun.....and it sits with pretty good company in the safe.

Really enjoying having fun with 30 rounds of 9mm after so much time with 5.56 & 7.62x39.

Thanks for the feedback.  A lot of positive comments about MKE/Zenith.  I've shot a full auto MP5SD many years ago and loved it.  Plus, I was turned on as a kid to MP5s as like everyone else from movies, tv, etc.  Looking to put on a side folding stock and front grip....after my form, of course.

Any thoughts/input on tackling the 922(r) debacle?  I know it's a sore and sensitive subject out there.

You've got 2 choices in respect to 922(r) and MKE/Zenith guns.

1) Buy now and plan on swapping 6 of the listed parts for a domestic equivalent. Things like mag plates, followers and body all count as 1 part each, so after a charging handle and a fore grip you're almost done. HKParts, under the MP5 section has a 922(r) subsection that lists all options for compliance and outlines the ATF policy on it.

2) Wait an unknown period of time for Zenith to start making available their guns in a 922(r) compliant configuration straight from them. They understand the very high SBR demand these guns obviously have, and have stated that they will likely do what I mentioned above in the future. When that is? Who knows, but they likely will eventually. Give'em a call is all I can suggest if you need to know more.

922(r), IMO, is one of those horse shit BATF rules that has such an inability to even be verified its almost meaningless. A Compliant MP5 charging handle and a foreign MP5 charging handle for example look identical. It's not like it's stamped or has a serial number. Same with forearms and other smal parts.

I don't believe there's ever been anyone prosecuted for a 922(r) violation in and of itself. Very difficult to verify domestic v. Foreign small parts in the first place. Beyond that, if you're gun is properly stamped with a Form 1 and engraved, nobody gives a shit to verify beyond that, and even that isn't all that common. The wording of 922(r) contains dumb ambiguities about differences between manufacturing and possession, where the former is an issue, the latter not a problem. It's something that MIGHT be scrutinized in some large Federal machine gun sting operation. It is what it is however, so proceed with your plans accordingly.

My fun money is pretty tight right now, but damn those MKE full size Mp5 clones are tempting.

Hell I still need to file a form one for my CZ Skorpion EVO 3.  I've always wanted a true Mp5 clone, but haven't wanted to drop the money on an SP89, or some of the high priced custom builds.

While not exactly cheap, the MKE is still a bargain for what you are getting.  I'm going to have to start saving...

Same here, but I managed to scrounge enough to pick up a Z-5RS a week ago from Atlantic Firearms.  I haven't been this excited about a gun purchase for a long time.  It is a beautiful gun.

I submitted my Form 1 on Monday.

My Form 1 went out 06/04.

Hopefully this means I'm at least at the half way point.

Approval times have steadily gotten longer then what used to be a pretty reliable 90 day window for eFiling.

Hopefully yours will come in soon.  Over the past week I have had people tell me everything from 45 days to 3 1/2 months.  I assumed the latter is a more reasonable expectation.

Let us know when yours arrives!
