I am just starting to reload ofr my ARs. I never thought about getting specific primers for it. I have a couple thousand Remington Small Rifle Bench Rest primers. Any reason I cannot use these? I dont want to have to try to find CCI 34 or 41, whichever it is, specific AR primers.

Your Remington 7½ primers are great for precision stuff.  I use them with TAC and 68grn Hornadys for 300yd shooting.  My 55grn ammo gets Winchester SR primers.

yeah, I am trying my hand at loading for precision. I have a box of 69 SMK and some Varget. I have a 1:7 and 1:8 twist I want to see what we can do. I was just concerned that the SR BR primers may be too soft, or not hard enough for a mag fed weapon.

Your only problem is having only a couple thousand of those primers on hand.

They'll work great.

Remington 7.5 benchrest primers are very tough primers. They can withstand pressures that cause others to flatten or even pierce the primers. They are amoung my favorites.

223 Primers for AR

Wolf=Small Rifle Magnum or the "223" Primer which I have never seen.
CCI=400, 450, BR4, and Mil Spec 41
Rem=7.5
Fed=205, 205M, GM205
Win=SR
MagTech=Small Rifle

Rem 7.5 works great with Varget, RL15, and TAC

They have usually been readily available so that is good point to remember.

The "thing" about Rem sm rifle primers and using them to reload .223 Rem/5.56 ammo had to do with Rem 6 1/2 primers..........

And, Remington says………

http://remington.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/167

In rifle cartridges, the 6-1/2 small rifle primer should not be used in the 17 Remington, 222 Remington or the 223 Remington. The 7-1/2 BR is the proper small rifle primer for these rounds.

Warning: When primers are selected incorrectly, misfires, damage to your firearm, and/or personal injury may occur. Visit the ballistics tables on our website. Recommended primers for each rifle and pistol cartridge are listed in these tables.
