Who makes a Supressor/ mount that will work despite the muzzle device. Ive got a YHM 5C2 and an A2 birdcage. The can will be going on a 10.5 Mk18. Id rather not have to drop 130 or so on a SF flash hider, but I will if I have to.

ETA. Just point me in the direction and I will find something.

$900 on a can
$200 on a stamp

$200 on the SBR stamp

$1600 on the MK18

Can't spend $150 to get a quality can?

YHM Phantom QDs come with mount. $456 plus stamp from SilencerShop. $551 for the stainless version and $763 for the 12 oz titanium. Should have you covered quite well. If you're insistent on a SF can...you're gonna have to pay the piper.

SWR Specwar 556: $550 with mount.

Thanks fellas. I'm trying not to have to get a SF can. That's why I'm asking about what can attach to either the A2 or 5c2

SF is what the mil chose for the Mk18 but they aren't cheap.

SpecWar seems like a really nice can for the money. Skip YHM cans.

Gemtech HALO
quick attach fits any A1 or A2 flashider.
All stainless, very heavy duty construction,
32 dB noise suppression.

The tolerances of the A2 mount absolutely suck compared to those of purpose-built mounts, and you will have to remove it and re-install it, anyway, so why not just put a good mount/can combo on there? You will forget the extra $130 in a few days, anyway, but you will always kick your arse if you have a crappy mount that causes you grief or a baffle strike later on.

I'm a bit confused on what it is you seek. You mention not wanting to pay extra for a mount, yet you want to pay more for the halo than it would cost you for a can that INCLUDES the QD mount. MSRP on the Halo is $750. YHM and the Specwar are $550 mount INCLUDED. There's your tax stamp in savings, not an extra $130 for a mount. I'm sure you could find the Halo a little cheaper, but I'm not sure you could find it in the $550 range. Hell, for $13 more you could have a 12oz YHM can that INCLUDES the mount instead of a 21 oz can that is a PITA to put on and take off.  No I don't have one, but was seriously considering one until I watched a dealer fumble around trying to mount it.

Quoted:Skip YHM cans.

Why?  They aren't the prom queen by any means, but they'll be there with ya and give you a blow job after. No I don't own one, so this isn't brand loyal blindness.

I love my Halo. It serves a niche purpose, but for what it is, it's perfect.

Extremely durable, and built like a tank. Fits A2 and several other flash hiders, so you don't have to buy/replace mounts. The real benefit comes when you have several rifles and you don't have to spend $100+ for each mount. If you only have 1-2 guns you're going to suppress, it's not as big of a cost savings. For someone who has 6+ ARs, it makes a big difference in the total purchase price.

It's not too bad to take on/off. It's not as fast as a QD can, but it's quicker than standard thread on.

For the OP, the YHM cans would probably be a great option, especially if he doesn't plan on adding more 5.56 ARs to his safe.

If that were the case, I'd be inclined to agree with you. However, the OP only mentions one specific stick and an argument that makes no sense based on information available. Doesn't want to spend extra on a mount, but is considering spending much more on a suppressor when there are three options that are enough cheaper, including the mount, that the difference would cover the extortion fee to the ATF. In one case he'd have enough left over for a steak supper.

No problem. That's how we learn. More than one stick? Personally I'd go QD of some sort. I went with GemTech HVT-QM and am seriously considering a YHM titanium for my 12" AR. I considered the HALO, and summarily dismissed it once I saw it. It's worth the $100 mounts to me. YMMV.

If you want to keep your mounts, you're kinda stuck.

Let's go shoot some suppressed weaponry when you're back on leave.  I have the suppressors and the SBRs, you just bring yourself.

Sounds good. I should have y SBR ready a little while after I get back too.
