I just spent a couple hours on the DSA site - wow I learned alot.  It also got me interested in maybe buying one of these rifles.  I have no familiarity of them other than what I just read there, and on this site last night.

If I were to buy a new DSA SA58 here:  www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SA58C  or here:  www.dsarms.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SA58STD

with 18 or 21 inch barrel, and their free float tube,  trigger job, and top scope rail setup, and a good high power optic, and high quality ammo, what kind of accuracy could I expect?

Any comments on the quality, workmanship, or durability of any of the options I noted above?

Also, the stated length of pull is 14.25" which sounds like way to much for me... though I have never handled a FAL.  I generally prefer about 13.25" LOP.  Are there stock options availble for a shorter LOP?  If not would it be feasible to put on a wood stock and then cut it to the desired length - any thing inside the stock that would prevent this?

One more thing - any experience with DSA's Duracoat?  How does it hold up?

I don't think the two rifles you linked are available with free floated barrels. You can get free floaters but only in slightly different models I believe.

I'd expect no better than 1-2 MOA on a very good day for the rifles you linked, maybe a tad better for the free float rifles. The FAL is not considered a tack driver, if paper punching is your goal and you want to do it with a 30 caliber semi-auto I'd look at an AR-10.

The quality, workmanship, and durability of DSA FALs are very good.

Shortening the stock is challenging because the recoil spring is in the stock. It can be done but it is not cheap and easy, there's a recent thread here that addresses the options.

Duracoat has a good reputation but I'm happy with the standard finish.
