Hi All,
I've owned a few firearms for years now. I've never shipped them anywhere to have work done (only to my local shop). If I want to send a firearm to get a new barrel installed by a gunsmith (in state or out of state) do I need to transfer it through a FFL again? I mean, does the smith need to mail me a signed FFL before shipping it there, and once the work is completed, do i need to have the firearm shipped back to my local FFL and pay for another thransfer back to me?
Thanks, Eapdos!

No.  You can ship your firearm directly to a manufacturer/gunsmith and they can mail it directly back to you.
