I have one lonely formerly loaded round that has become bulletless and powderless , yet with a Live primer' I saw Aero E's sticky up top
so I know it's possible, just VERY VERY gently I am guessing with ear and always eye pro . Enlightenment, please, as always I owe ARF a beer |

I recently pulled down a bunch of 9mm handloads. About 30 ish of them were primed with Tula SP primers. My son's PT-92 doesn't reliably
light these, so I wanted to remove them to use in my .40 as my XD is totally reliable with them. I de-primed in an RCBS Jr. with a Lyman decapping die, slowly, with eye & ear protection. There were no issues. However, when I used these primers in the .40 cases, some were too small to stay in place and all took noticably less pressure to seat than usual. (Tula primers are normally tighter than US made ones.) I discarded about 4 - 5 of them. The rest worked fine. I've never had one go off on me accidentally, but I have deactivated a few with a hammer, they are very LOUD! If all you need to do is resize these cases, simply remove the decapping stem from your die. If bottle neck, back the stem off so that you don't decap but still neck expand. Some dies can have the decapping pin removed from the expander button. Good luck. |
