Anyone use one with an RLL.  M60Joe says he can machine the bolt for the RLL but wondering what the end results are.  Reliability, cyclic rate, etc.  Thanks!

I used to use an RLL in my 9mm Oly, and it ran fine.  Cyclic rate was about the same as it is now, mounted on an RR - about 880rpm with 124gr NATO FMJ.

Pistol calibers and blowback operation are much tougher on a link than rifle calibers with gas operation - for me, a link protector would now be a MUST-HAVE item.  One of my links suffered a broken retaining tab in that same Oly 9mm setup, and the only other link with a broken tab that I've personally seen resulted from its use in an Oly .40 upper.  $125 for a link protector is cheaper than $275 to M60Joe to get it welded up.

Thanks Circuits! That's what I needed to know.  And yep, I have a protector, and I agree it's cheap insurance.  BTW, who machined your bolt for the RLL?  Thanks again!!!

KKF, waaaaay back in the day.  He did a fine job, though.  I've still got that bolt carrier sitting around somewhere in my parts boxes - it uses an FA bolt carrier right now, since it's on an RR.  (With the Oly system, it's a carrier, since the actual bolt face is a separate piece secured by a stationary pin in place of the cam pin, unlike with the Colt/RRA system where the bolt face is machined right into what most of us would otherwise consider the carrier)

I'm on my 2nd extractor and third ejector on the Oly, otherwise it's been fine.  Biggest issue is proper mag seating with sten mags... basically I find the ones that work best, and use those, keeping the others for my M10/9 with T-I sten mag grip conversion.

I use a sten mag block I got so long ago I've forgotten who it was made by, and have cut it flush to the magwell and reshaped it with a nice leaf-tabbed paddle release.  I also cut the barrel to 10.5 and recrowned it.

Got my bolt back from M60Joe. He machined it for a RLL and ramped the hammer cocking surface  Fast turnaround, 9 days mailbox-to-mailbox.  Quality of work looks excellent.  Can't wait to take possession of RLL to test it out.
