Looking into an omega 9k.  Not much info on it yet.  Only test I can find is military arms channel.  They got 125db using 165 gr hush ammo in a cz compact.  115gr ammo they tested at 160db and 135db with the omega 9k.

125db seems amazing to me for such a small silencer.  The results with supersonic ammo seem reasonable, so I assume the 125db is reasonable...  With that kind of performance I'm going to be hard pressed to not get one.

I don't have a pistol silencer and I really like the size/performance/speq price of the omega 9k.
Anybody have one?  Anybody shot one?  Any other numbers out there?  Any opinions?

That thread is archived...  Any idea what ammo those Capitol armory numbers were with?

I think the diameter would kinda suck on a handgun. I view it more as a pistol caliber carbine can.

Now for use as a nightstand handgun suppressor I think it would be awesome. But going to the range and putting a bunch of rounds through it without really being able to use their sights properly would be annoying.

That 0.1 inch extra means the top of the can is 0.05 inch higher than an octane 9.
I doubt I'll notice.

I have one and think it really excellent. On my MP5 clones and 9mm AR it sounds pretty much as quiet as my Octane 9mm (purely subjective). I used it with the direct thread mount. It is so short and light I could leave it on all the time. I haven't shot it on a handgun yet.

The Octane already has too large of a diameter for handguns. Diagram of my Octane on my Glock with extremely tall Trijicon suppressor height sights showing the occlusion:

As long as you don't care about sight obstruction, or you're comfortable with having a red dot mounted on your slide, just know what you're getting into.

Yeah for a handgun primarily I would stick with an Octane but for a sub gun where the extra diameter doesn't matter, the Omega 9K shines. The reduced length is really great. I have the tall Trijicons on a few handguns and can confirm that with the Octane they are mostly viewable but with the Omega the are mostly obscured.

Hansohn Brothers emailed me today that my stamp had been approved for my 9k. I'll be using it primarily on a CZ scorpion evo and occasionally on a glock 43. Unfortunately I won't be able to get up there to pick it up until the end of next week. I will report back after I get to use it some.

Very close to an Octane 45 as far as numbers go... we used 147 grain american eagle.
