Wasn't paying very good attention and now I have a 223 case stuck up inside a Dillon size/trim die. I was adjusting the trimmer to get the right amount of trim and you guessed it, got a case stuck.

Sprayed some lube down then hole and that hasn't helped yet. How about some penetrating oil? Bad for the die?

Another another suggestions? Maybe a 5 ton portr power? What a bust!

Pay attention times 3 next time.

buy a stuck case removal tool

Midway USA
or

I have a Drill and tap kit from Greenlee that I use. you basically tap the end of the case and use a screw to pull the stuck case out.

good luck.

Sometimes you can put the die between two peices of wood in your vise and grab the end of the case with a pliers of vice grip and twist it out. Then cut the case in half and remove the decapping pin lock. I had one stick last year and I destroyed the decapping stem trying to remove the case. I called Redding and told them I wrecked it due to stupidity, they sent me a new one free of charge anyway.

3/16" COLD STEEL Punch with a framing hammer and 5 good whacks. I am not sure if the penetrating oil helped or not but it came out.
