| Was shooting M1A today, and the bolt went forward, but the op rod charging handle was still to the rear.(EDIT - fixed below, M1 Garand) Ended up fixing it by hitting the charging handle with the heel of my hand and it went forward and I was able to get the bolt nub back in the slot. What caused it and what do I need to do to prevent it from happening again? |

I’m wrong, it’s an M1 garand  Not an M1A Loaded an en bloc, chambered the first round and fired it, then the bolt cycled and went all the way forward, but the charging handle was 8-10 inches back and pushing out to the right if the receiver. Like I said, I was able to hit the charging handle and it went forward and then I was able to get the bolt head/nub back into the op rod slot and shoot the other 7 rounds with no issues. |

| Well, no need to worry about a bolt roller. Take a look at the lug on the back portion of the op rod that engages the receiver track. |
