Trying to decide if I want to get a CRS suppressor for my 11.5" rifle. I already have a CQB suppressor and an MCQ on my other 11.5's. What your opinions on adding a CRS to the collection. Wondering how it compares with the MCQ as far as how much quieter and how much perceived recoil reduction it has. I really like how the MCQ sounds and feels so I'm guessing I'd like the CRS also. The weight of it is a non-issue for my decision. |

Had my 11.5 CQB running a Sandman S for years. Quick strings of fire and id have tears in my eyes from gas. Got the 556 CRS PRT and fell in love. You wont notice the weight much on an 11.5. Zero gas blowback. Its like shooting an unsuppressed rifle. My hearing isnt the best, but I have shot mags without ears and it didnt bother me much. I wouldnt do that all day. Im not saying its ok, its not, but the suppressor is quiet enough is all Im saying. Waiting for the CRS-2 to release for my 14.5 Carbine. |

I have the CRS for work on a KS-3. Almost zero blowback, good sound suppression, almost zero flash, repeatable POA/POI. I think it’s an excellent suppressor. Not as quiet as traditional non flow through suppressors, but that is expected and if you’re buying a flow through type suppressor then should expect this. I personally own the MCQ and have used it with the KS-3. It performs just about identically, just not as much sound suppression. It has enough sound suppression to take the bark off, but if you’re hearing is still currently intact, I probably wouldn’t shoot it very often without ear pro. Both sound great with ear pro, but the CRS is definitely a little more tolerable without ear protection. If you’re hearing is already pretty much blown out like mine is, then shooting either of them unsuppressed without ear pro probably wouldn’t do much more damage. I also personally own a legacy 556 QDC. It is quieter than the CRS, but doesn’t perform nearly as well in regards to blowback. But the sound suppression between the two is close enough for me to pick the CRS any day because of the benefits afforded by flow through technology. So which one, MCQ or CRS? If I had to pick one, I’d probably pick the CRS over the MCQ 7 out of 10 times simply because of the little bit more sound suppression. But man let me tell you, an 11.5” KS-3 or Mod 2 with the MCQ is a very wieldy and fun setup to shoot. If you’re shooting with ear pro all the time, it might be the way to go. Hope this helps. |
