I have an SPR which is already configured for an Ops Model 12th suppressor. I have a Ops Model 16th suppressor in process for my M16. Can I use the Model 16th on my SPR? Do I need to buy a different collar? (Yes, I know I can also buy a Model 12th suppressor for my SPR, but it would be nice to be able to interchange.) Thanks guys. |

Slide the collar onto the barrel and lightly tighten the set screw. The screw does not hold the collar in place, just keeps it from going forward when the suppressor is not installed. The location is held by the step on the barrel where the .725 dim. changes to .7495. The step inside the collar catches on this step and keeps it from going rearward. Ron |

i'd like to add: if there is a coating on the barrel the collar may be hard to get seated properly, so make sure the collar is seated ALL the way back to the shoulder. i had a slight issue with mine. i got the collar/brake a year before i got the 12th model(can purchased sept 2006). when i got the can i wasn't getting but 4-6 turns on. after shooting, i noticed the can would loosen. i took a wood block and tapped/turned the can until the collar no longer moved rearward. got it fully seated, and no problems to date. once tightened, the can tends to stay put, contrary to what some people think it should do ron, you build excellent cans. i've got only one 12th model as of now. i hope to add another to my collection this year. |
