Is there any reason the 12th model mounts (brake and collar) have to be two piece set-ups requiring barrel profiling for the collar? I measured the Ops brake and collar on my MK12 - the outside thread measurement on the brake is .86in, the OD of the first step on the collar is also .86in. Seems to be this could be made as a one piece slip over barrel design similar to some of the AAC and Surefire mounts. A one piece mount would sure be nice for adapting the OPs can to standard barrel profiles.

You can call Ops and ask about making one.  I have seen a one piece mount for the 16th model.  Not sure how many of those were made though.

The 12th Model is long and somewhat heavy. A one-piece mount is still a single point mount and attaches only to the barrel threads and shoulder. That's not a lot of support. With the brake and collar you get two points of contact with the barrel several inches apart making it more rigid. Some suppressor designs don't require or benefit from two point.

Imagine a one piece OPS collar and brake set-up that still maintained 2-point contact. It would be a long tube with some very complicated machine work on the inside. Not sure it could even be done.
