I'm going out of state for vacation and want to take my SBR with a dedicated 22LR upper along with a can with me.  Do I need to get permission from the ATF?

TIA ...

Yes you do, someone should chime in on what form it is, but you need to make sure that the state your tarveling to allows SBR's. IIRC The can does not need permission as long as its legal in the state you are going to. I think there is a FAQ about this somewhere on this site!

Form 5320.20

Just make sure the SBR & Can is legal in that state.
The SBR needs the 5320.20 approved before going over state lines. The suppressor doesnt need one but the ATF will approve the 5320.20 just so some uninformed police officer wont try & take your can.
