| Which would you choose and why? I decided on the Gemtech over the Pilot and Warlock simply because it is the cheapest out of them and I beleive for the most part most of the .22 cans are going to perform about the same. Now, that said, how would you rate the TAC 65 against the Outback II? I know some prefer a can that you can take apart and clean over a sealed can. How quiet is the take apart Tac 65 compared to the Outback? My local guy has a Tac 65 in stock for $259 and is getting Outbacks in in 2 weeks for $299. Main host gun is a Buckmark, with maybe a 10/22 thrown in down the road. He also has a Tac 67 in stock for $399. What are the thoughts on that one? If I ever went f/a though, it would be a good bit down the road, but a Mac or Uzi with a .22 conversion would be a blast, and why not can it while I'm at it, right! Thanks |

I think for the price I'ld wait two weeks and get a Gemtech. The gemtech is a little better looking IMO, and I'm pretty sure has 2-3DB better performance in a shorter package. The Tac 65 is fine too though. If taking it apart is something you want to do, that's probably your best bet. I personally probably wouldn't care about aking it apart, because I'ld shoot it semi-auto and don't feel that $150-$300 to replace it 20,000 rounds down the road is a big deal. |
Who's your "local" dealer if I can ask? You can IM me with the answer if you'd like. |

I would probably go with the gemtech on service and reputation alone. Having shot a gemtech next to a friends tac65, the gemtech is a little quieter and has less first round pop. However, with that said, having shot a gemtech outback next to an swr warlock...the warlock was quieter and had less pop. If I needed another 22 can, the warlock would be it. It costs a little more and is a little longer, but definitly quieter. I would go with swr or gemtech...both great companies with great service and support. You will not be disappointed with the outback! |
