| Running my SR-25 today with a can I got into a few mags with no issues (first time shooting it with a suppressor) and then I had a few issues. First I fired a few shots and then the rifle doubled. I cleared the rifle and checked the brass to find a heavily cratered primer. I figured it was a touchy primer (some factory Federal 165gr soft point hunting rounds I wanted to burn up). The next round I fired ripped the rim off of the case and stuck the case in the chamber. When I got home and rodded the barrel it popped right out easily. I've shot Hornady Super Performance throught the rifle and didn't have any issues...so I doubt this stuff was too hot even though it was commercial .308 ammo. No issues without the can so far but I don't have many rounds through the rifle. I'm going to load up some 150gr FMJBT's as a M80 ball clone load and try them to see how it runs with some NATO 7.62 brass and not the butter soft federal brass. |
