[ARCHIVED THREAD] - P556 upper?

I worked a trade for a Sig Classic lower receiver. I would like to build an SBR, Is there any place that sells uppers or is my only option to buy a complete P556 or find someone who's piecing one out?

How about barrels? Can u pick up spare barrels anywhere?

Check gun broker. They pop up once in a while.

Osage Guns on Gunbroker sells them but I was told thta SIg is using all parts to build complete guns. He said he wouldnotify me when they become available. I saw a few P556 on Gunbroker for 920 new.

I am in same boat. Would like to get a pistol upper so when I get a chance to send off form to SBR I will have it and change back and forth instead of buying a complete pistol and have a wasted lower.

Is teh Pistol upper marked Pistol Only like Rock River does their or is that even required?

Might be easier just to buy a P556, and then buy a 551 or 556 lower direct from SIG or on the EE, then sell off the pistol lower when your paperwork is all good to go.

The pistol lower has a plug for the M4 type stock, so you can use it by removing the plug. You can also sell it and someone who wants an M4 stocked 556 rifle can put it to good use.
