| Do all Congo FALS have the carry handle? I have one that I purchased as a Congo model it does not have a carry handle and I am trying to determine a value but all I have seen have the carry handles. |

The DSA Congo thing is just a sales gimmick. The Para FALs the Belgians used during the Congo Crises in the early 1960s did have carry handles to the best of my knowledge; I believe they had the rubberized plastic ribbed carry handle. The SOF article on the FAL from back in the day apparently has a picture of a genuine Belgian Army para fal of the kind used in the Congo operation. As for the DSA Congo Para FAL I believe they are carry handle cut. |
| One guy said on the FAlfiles that they would work the handle back and forth until it fell free. This way it would never stay in the up position, thus blocking the sights when you needed them the most. Just a guess, but I am willing to bet that most of the troops that used the FAL in battle didn't have much use for the carry handle. |

Mine is a newer one from DSA. the question is do all newer"congo " FALs have carry handles, I am trying to put a value on this rifle to possibly put it up for sale. the only ones i have seen on Gun broker and other places have the carry handle which makes me think maybe mine isnt a Congo. It is dura coated black |
