I bought one on ebay last year for about $40. You can buy new chin straps from us cav.

what size do you need

I would like to find an updated set of pads, similar to the mich pads that do not cost a fortune.....

I have an aftermarket set but the pads are uncomfortable, i am thinking of footbal helmet pads....

If you are a real deputy you might be able to get them free for your department from the federal .gov.

If not/ ebay. if you melon is 7 1/8 you probably want a "Large"

Large...? Ok...I am glad you mentioned that. I don't know how the sizes run...HAVE NO CLUE!!!Thanks for the input. Do you know where I can find a size chart so I can know for sure before I go ordering one. I sure would hate to buy one that will be to small.

PASGT Helmet Sizing
Measure the circumference around your forehead with a cloth tape measure (or a belt and a ruler).

Be sure to measure:

SNUGLY - pull that tape measure snug !
above the eyebrow ridge
head up straight, and
keep the tape measure roughly parallel to the ground
take the widest forehead circumference measurement you get when the tape is SNUG.
it helps to look in the mirror to check your measuring
