I have had my FFL (brick and mortar business) for a few years and keeping track of sales of firearms, ammo and accessories via xls spreadsheet and receipt book from local office supply store.
I am looking for an in-expensive Point of Sale software solution that will allow me to put in my local sales tax and desired % mark-up and spit out a receipt with said into....minus the markup. I am also hoping it could some form of inventory management as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. |

Gun Store POS maybe here?
It looks like it has what you want. ETA: Missed the inexpensive part. The one above may not qualify then. |
| NetPOS is based out of Ann Arbor where I went to college. A lot of local businesses in the Metro Detroit area use them. No idea on price and features, I just see a lot of small family restaurants and the like using it. |

Tag. Quick Books POS any good? You can try Quickbooks POS for 30 days with their free trial. I used the Basic trial version for a few days but not sure how I feel about it. One of the minor inconveniences that have is that I cannot track inventory by serial number. I can receive and sell items with serial numbers but cannot view which serial numbers I have in stock. This isn't really a problem since I have electronic bound book and double check serial numbers but it would be a nice function. Additionally I am not sure if it is due to using the Basic POS ($1,200) and not Pro ($1,900). Why I may continue using it, is I use Quickbooks for my accounting software and the POS interacts with it. So I can do day to day activities without having to do dual entries. While I don't use it, their POS also has the ability to accept cards using a merchant account. I think their rates are too high and unpredictable of how much they will charge per transaction. Tag for any other POSs people are using. |
