I am considering purchasing a PS90, but I am a little confused with the different optic choices that are offered with the gun.

I understand that there is one model that is offered with a rail and basic iron sites, and then another model that is offered with a factory optic.

How is the factory optic?  I have also heard that the optic is offered with different color reticles.

I've read nothing but bad things with the stock optics so personaly I would look at the tri rail which doesn't have anything and add your own.

Having used both the "white" ring and the "black" ring factory optics on the PS90, in my opinion, if I had to use the factory optics, the "black" ring optics is by far the best choice.

Thanks,

Don

Thanks for the replies-

What is the magnification of the factory optic?  Does anyone have a picture of the reticle or the optic they could post?

Thanks

Factory optic is 1X power.  Circle with a dot in the middle.  The white ring sights suck, black is much better.

I bought a black ring version thinking I'd sell the sight for ~$300 and get an Aimpoint in a TROS mount.  I ended up keeping the black ring sight because it works really well.

If you want a tri-rail version, it may be cheaper to buy the white sight version and put on aftermarket rails.  The aftermarket rails sit slightly higher than the factory tri-rail, so people will argue if that is a disadvantage or not.  If you want to put an Aimpoint on it, get the white version and TROS mount––this will sit lower than an Aimpoint on the tri-rail.

Get the standard PS90, ditch the factory sight, and install an Aimpoint in a TROSUSA mount:

+1. I've tried both factory sights, Eotech, Aimpoint CompM4 & Russian PK-AS and IMHO the TROS/Aimpoint ML3 setup was the best by far.
