I just got my trigger pack back from Bill Williams at triggerwork.net.

HOLY CRAP!!!

It is fantastic!  No pull, no creep not movement... Just clean break at 4.5 Lbs. Smooth as silk.  I'm sending several more back to him for his majic touch. This small investment will make your PTR/HK VERY TRIGGER HAPPY!

+1

Bill has quick turnaround time too... shipped my trigger priority mail to him on a friday, and the next friday i had the trigger back in my ptr91.

Finally had a chance to shoot it this weekend to try out some of my handloads; two of the loads i managed to shoot 1.75" three-shot groups with the stock sights at 100 yards (milspec 145gr fmjbt in LC brass, benchmark powder, cci #200).  I don't think that would have been possible with the stock trigger.

$55 huh?  Considering I threw my carcass on that financial hand grenade that is the almighty SG-1 stock...I might as well drop some effort into the trigger too.  I'll have to email him.  Seems interesting.

I must admit my PTR91F is extremely sweet.  Can't wait to get it to the range again.  Still deliberating on a scope.

Yeah.  It's BILL SPRINGFIELD.

He does excellent work.  For $55, shipping included, he installed a US-maded PTR trigger in my pack and brought my trigger from about 9 lbs down to 4.5 lbs.  Absolutely made a world of difference in the shootability of the rifle.

He also smoothes up AR triggers and has done one of mine, and three of my friends AR triggers, all for $35 each including return shipping.

The guy is a machine.  Typical turnaround time is 2-3 DAYS.

Bill Springfield

He also installs Paddle Mag releases on PTRs.  I'm strongly considering that done.  $150 and he supplies all the parts, labor, and return shipping.

Post if you do, please! I've had the trigger work and am giving serious thought to the paddle mag...

A less expensive alternative that you can easily install yourself is the Taclatch.  For the PTR, you have to ground the edge on the clevis, which only took a minute on a bench grinder, not much, just enough so it doesn't rub on the receiver.  Normal push-button mag release still works like normal and the taclatch allows one handed mag removal.  Does not modify the rifle in any way, you can go back to the original configuration in  minutes.  I really like mine.

Williams would be Denny Williams of Williams Triggers.

Mixing up the two guys up would be like confusing Monet for the guy who paints all those paintings you see on the walls in hotels.  Sure, they're both talented, but there is quite a difference between them.

I will always, and without hesitation, recommend you get a Williams trigger job if you want the very best trigger for your HK pattern rifle.

Has anyone who has actually fired both triggers (Williams vs Springfield) provide a comparison?

I have my first PTR on its way. Is it hard to get the trigger pack out?

Thanks!

Mr Springfield has done four of my triggers - I'm quite pleased with them all.

He's also an ARFCOM member.

I've also had my PTR-91 trigger addressed by Denny Williams @ WTS, great work and fast turnaround!
