Ran a few types of ammo through my new PTR to see what worked best.   It ate up the cheap stuff (Wold, Indian Surplus) but choked on a box of Federal 150 grain power-shock ammo.   Light strikes on the primer not setting the rounds off.   I am assuming it was the ammo but want to see if anyone had any similar experiences that would make me suspect the gun.   I ran some of the rounds back through the gun and they went off for the most part.  Probably just a box with hard primers but I am new to PTRs so I don’t know if they have any generalized ammo sensitivity.

Next time I get it to the range I am going to try a few more types of ammo to make sure.

Any thoughts, observations and hints are appreciated...

I have ran everything through my PTR from surplus to match stuff.  Not a single problem.  Might have just been some hard primers.

I ran Wolf through my PTR-91 with absolutely no problems.  I am thinking of buying a case or two of Wolf and keeping that on hand specifically for the PTR-91.

Nothing bigger than .22 is a cheap date any more.

My PTR eats everything and anything.

Even the CETME Spanish Light loaded ammo that won't shoot in anything else.
